10 Music Cruises from Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean in early 2015

Ten music cruises to the Caribbean will depart from Fort Lauderdale’s Port Everglades during winter 2015. Ranging from gospel to heavy metal, these musical themed cruises feature numerous live performances and stop at multiple ports of call.

Princess Cruises, Holland America and Royal Caribbean all offer music-themed cruises that depart and return from Port Everglades. Rodeway Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale, just 10 minutes from the Port, provides free shuttles for guests who choose a pre-cruise stay. January 2015

Where the Action Is Oldies Cruise, 1/17-1/24. Paul Revere and the Raiders and The Guess Who headline this eastern Caribbean cruise aboard Ruby Princess. Includes autograph sessions, trivia contests and a cocktail party.

The Country Music Cruise, 1/18-1/25. Join the Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Pride, Martina McBride and others on this cruise to Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Croix. Travelers sail aboard Holland America’s 11-deck ms Eurodam.

Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise, 1/18-1/25. This eastern Caribbean cruise #24 aboard ms Niew Amsterdam is sold out. Cruise #25 aboard ms Westerdam, which hits Key West and New Orleans in October ’15, is on sale now.

Gospel Music Celebration Cruise, 1/18-1/25. The Booth Brothers and Legacy Five headline this weeklong Caribbean cruise aboard ms Westerdam. Features full-length evening performances and daily devotional activities.

7000 Tons of Metal, 1/22-1/26. More than 50 heavy-metal acts are scheduled to perform on this five-day cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas. The 4th annual trip, which includes two days at sea, travels to Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

The Jazz Cruise, 1/25-2/1. Arturo Sandoval headlines more than 90 performances aboard ms Eurodam during this cruise. Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra on this 14th annual sailing.

February 2015

Rockin’ the Boat Cruise, 2/8-2/14. Featuring beach music from the Carolina Breakers, this cruise sails the western Caribbean aboard Independence of the Seas. Trip includes visits to Grand Cayman, Jamaica and Labadee.

Rock Legends Cruise III, 2/19-2/23. Southern-rock flavors this cruise aboard Liberty Princess, with .38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band and Molly Hatchett playing. Also features the Doobie Bros, but it’s sold out for this year.

Soul Train Cruise, 2/22-3/1. Catch Gladys Knight, KC and the Sunshine Band and Maze with Frankie Beverly, among others, on this classic R&B cruise. Includes two days at sea aboard ms Eurodam, plus four days in Caribbean ports.

March 2015

The Smooth Jazz Cruise, 3/1-3/7 (). The January sailing of this cruise on ms Eurodam is full, but cabins remain for the March trip. Features Natalie Cole, makes a couple stops in Bahamas and a couple in Virgin Islands.
